Back in my high school days, you would never, ever, ever, EVER have seen me speak a positive word about any type of math. My intended audience here is others who are about to teach Calculus at Michigan, or people who are wondering what it would be like to set up a Michigan-style program in their own departments. But I wouldn't want to teach it to high school students. My favorite one lately was delivered to me by the wonderful Brittan Bright after someone passionately declared to her that SEO is the “Calculus of Marketing.” I love it simply because it fits.
